Yerevan Perspectives is one of the leading music festivals in Europe, which enjoys highest reputation and acclaim. Established in 2000 by famous composer Stepan Rostomyan, the Festival presented in Yerevan top class musicians and orchestras of our days, among which Vienna Philharmonic and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestras, Berlin Staatskapelle and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, conductors Lorin Maazel, Daniel Barenbom, Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, soloists Evgeny Kissin, Pinchas Zukerman, Maxim Vengerov, Yefim Bronfman, Joshua Bell, Renée Fleming, Placido Domingo among great choirs, chamber ensembles and quartets of the world. The Festival launched Academy in Byurakan, a picturesque place 33 km North from Yerevan. Yerevan Perspectives is a member of EFA since 2007. It is our strong believe that Perspective of the humanity is in piece and mutual understanding for all nations and religions, which festival mission is to bring. Cultural diplomacy is one of the important aspects of activity of “Perspectives”. The festival were organized concerts in New York Carnegie Hall, London Cadogan, Jerusalem Opera, Brussels Bozar, Rome Santa Cecilia, Vienna Musikverein. “Perspectives”’ concerts period is each Spring and Autumn, occasionally other seasons as well. Since 2008 series of great living composers are taking place as a special project, in frames of which one-week festivals of Krzysztof Penderecki, Rodion Shchedrin, Sofia Gubaidulina, Gia Kanchelli happened. Festival is also presented jazz and pop music legends in Armenia and first time in region such as George Benson, Al Jerreau, Joe Cocker, Charles Aznavour, Lara Fabian, Patricia Kaas, Cesaria Evora, Goran Bregovic. It is planned construction of a new concert hall, forming of an ensemble of soloists also towards supporting creating and promotion of Armenian contemporary music as well as implementation of large scale educational and tourism and heritage projects.
